We have been asked, from time to time, where our guests can go for a good dinner with their children or grandchildren. Karen and I finally grandparenting, so we are gaining some insight into the challenge.
The perennial favorite it Red Robin in Redmond. They are very kid friendly. The menu is burger heavy, but offers some good salads and a few entrees as well. They have a good bar and the atmosphere is loud and high energy.
Another prime opportunity is the Triple XXX Root Beer Drive-In in Issaquah. Extreme 50’s decor, good root beer floats and surprisingly good burgers lend themselves to high rankings from the kids themselves.
Redmond’s Tipsy Cow may be aimed at slightly older kids, but the quality of the burgers is extraordinary. 50 craft beers on tap doesn’t hurt either.
Coho was a bit of a surprise to me, but they are ready with crayons and coloring matter for kid entertainment and the quality of the food is definitely better than many other options.
We see a lot of kids at BJ’s Brewhouse too when Karen and I visit there. Again, the background sound level is pretty high, so it is unlikely that the grandkids will disturb others and BJ’s offers a very eclectic menu to please all.
